Annual Giving

Dr To has generously offered to donate $2500 to Colfax if we reach 250 donations before  September 30th!!   Let's make this goal!  Annual Giving is our chance as parents and friends of Colfax to donate to our incredible school so that we can continue to have programs like art, violin, technology, and our amazing classroom aides.  This school would not be the special place that it is without these donations so please consider giving.  It takes about $800 PER CHILD to keep all these programs in place.  Checks can be dropped off in the office (made out to PACE) or you can donate on line here.   If you donate before September 15th you'll receive a coupon pack from our Colfax business sponsors. https://501auctions.com/pace

Hurricane Harvey

As you are aware, Hurricane Harvey has overwhelmingly impacted Houston and other Texas communities.  As the devastation continues we at Colfax Charter Elementary would like to join in offering support to those in need.  The Houston Independent School District continues to have an immediate need for children’s clothing of all sizes (clean and in good condition), school uniforms, and school supplies

From Tuesday, September 5th we will have special ‘bins’ around campus where you may choose to donate any of those items, which will be sent on to those in crisis.  Thank you for anything you can spare.

Technology Update

Fresh for the new school year, a lot of work has been done over the summer to enhance our communications to our parents.  You may have already noticed that our school website www.colfaxelementary.org has had a face lift and is sporting a new look home page with a fresh new banner and ‘Colfax News’ section.  We will be continuing its upgrade over the coming months so please keep checking back.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce the launch of our ‘Colfax Parents’ web portal!  When you log into www.Myschoolanywhere.com you will find a new interface sharing the combined forces of your Parents Organizations PACE and PTA.  Myschoolanywhere remains your ‘school directory’ and you can continue to search for your children’s friends and their parents contact details here, using your secure password.  * You should now have received the annual reminder to update your families profile, update your contact details and identify your children’s teachers for this year.

From ‘Colfax Parents’ you will be able to click on the buttons/links to navigate away to further information on any of the activities that PACE and PTA manage.  We are trying to make everything easier for you to sign up for, pay for and purchase online.  For example, you can now purchase your PTA Membership online and you can access our Annual Giving page to select how you wish to donate.  * Non-Colfax Parents can make annual giving donations via the PACE link on our school website:  https://501auctions.com/pace/custom/annual-giving .  Please feel free to share this link with your friends and family members.

We are continuing to develop these pages over the following months and you will find as we build this interface, you will have access to much more ‘Colfax Parents’ information at your fingertips!

PTA Memberships

Thank you so much to all of you who have joined the PTA!! The membership fee is $12, and the class who gets the most sign-ups will get a popsicle party! So far, the top three classes are Ms. Haim's, Ms. Tepper's, and Ms. McDonald's! Fill out the PTA envelope that is in your school folder, or register online at myschoolanywhere.com. Thank you!!
