And we invited anyone interested in stepping up as a Parent Ambassador to contact Jill Bennett at jill@75morton.org. We've got our two lead ambassadors – Kimmy Bible and Valeri McNulty – and we're looking for more. Parent Ambassadors are a middle school spin on Class Parents and are intended to offer an added layer of welcome, information, referral and resources to new families, especially those who might be new to the community.

'INTO THE WOODS' Last Performance TODAY, Fri. June 14, 5:30pm in the Gym

The Annual Spring Musical, 'INTO THE WOODS,' presented by students in the afterschool program, ends its run TODAY, Fri. June 14 at 5:30pm in the Gym. Tickets are FREE! Running time is about an hour.

Word on the street is that the show is GOOD! And you can hear most every lyric – thanks in part to a new PTA-funded audio system in the Gym! The space was PACKED yesterday, mostly with students showing their support for their thespian classmates!

Write Emails to Local Elected Officials for More Afterschool Slots

And, speaking of our afterschool Program, it is in danger of being severely underfunded if we don't fight for it now!

We need your help to get 125 new afterschool seats for our children! Right now we have 200 seats to serve the 569 students in the school. Next year, we will have 330 new children – but the City has not increased our afterschool seats. Unless we put political pressure on our elected officials, we are unlikely to get additional seats. The result will be much larger classes, fewer offerings, and the likelihood that your child will be shut out of their preferred afterschool activities.

Download THIS TEMPLATE you can use to write to your elected officials, plus a cut & paste email list. Please bcc our PTA email at pta@75morton.org. Thank you for your advocacy!

Yearbooks Will be Distributed Next Week. Buy Yours NOW!

Yearbooks will be handed out to students in Advisory next week. The cost is $20 per book. Please purchase here - and consider buying multiple books to underwrite the cost for other students.

While we need to earn back as much as we spent on yearbooks, they will be distributed to all students. So we urge you to purchase your yearbook now - and please consider sponsoring other students.

You may also download THIS FORM and send in to your student’s advisor along with cash or check for $20 per book (payable to MS 297 PTA).

Any lost library book needs to be paid for – by check payable to MS 297. Please contact Donna Santman at donna@75morton.org with any questions or concerns.
