PTA Meeting Wed. May 15, 8:45am in Library - Nominations for Next Year! 

You are cordially invited to attend our May Parent Teacher Association meeting, Wed. May 15 at 8:45am in the Library. Come enjoy free coffee, bagels and yogurt shots! 

Our agenda this month includes:

  • Special Performance by the 75M Afterschool Chorus (acapella, in 3-part harmony!)
  • Nominations for 2019-20 PTA Executive Board & School Leadership Team (SLT)*
  • Presentation of proposed 2019-20 PTA Budget
  • Shout-out to Auction Team for netting $100,000 from our online, Live and Charity Buzz Auctions
  • plus updates from Jacqui and info on Field Day, Yearbook, Roller Skate Party & much, much more!

* Please consider running for office. Most of the current PTA Board and School Leadership Team is stepping down due to term limits.

Earth Day Bake Sale Tues. May 7: Please Bring in Goodies!

Our Student Council is sponsoring a bake sale this Tuesday, May 7 during both lunch periods. Send in a coupla' bucks with your student;) All proceeds will go to a charitable organization that helps our Earth!

Please bring in healthy, yummy treats for the kids to sell – if possible, on eco friendly plates or platters.

Bring all baked goods to the main office anytime on Monday, or on Tuesday morning.

Field Day is Thurs. May 30 at Pier 40: We Need Volunteers!

Field Day is coming! We are delighted to announce that Field Day this year will take place at Pier 40, just a hop, skip and long jump from our home at 75 Morton. Here are the details:

  • Date: Thurs. May 30
  • Time: 6th grade from 8:40 - 10:50am.  7th grade from 12:30 to 3pm
  • Location: Pier 40

The PTA will host a special Field Day bake sale at 75 Morton during lunch time and after school that day. Stay tuned for details!

Permission slips for all students will be sent home shortly.

Yearbook Needs Photos, including Bronx Zoo Trip, Door Decor, Dances 

We are getting down to the wire, people!

The Yearbook, compiled almost exclusively by your kids, is in need of lots more photos. Specifically they are looking for pics of: classes and general school photos, 7th grade Bronx zoo trip, door decoration, and dances. Please submit all school related photos to

Garden Club Efforts Taking Root on Rooftop!

The Rooftop Garden is growing! The students in the Garden Club — together with Olivia Bello (Science teacher) — have planted lettuces, artichokes, radishes, carrots, potatoes, garlic, flowers and snap peas in the raised beds. They will be planting more vegetables, herbs and flowers in the new, hanging Wally Grow system over the next couple of weeks. Happy Springtime!

  • 7th Grade Families: Permission Slip & Payment for Philly Field Trip DUE THIS MON. MAY 6. If you have not already done so, please complete the blue form for our 7th grade trip to Philadelphia on May 28 (in backpack mail). The cost of the trip is $85 per student, and scholarships are available.   • Speakers Still Needed for Career Day! May 15 (7th grade) & May 16 (6th grade) from 8:40 - 10:50am. Volunteer yourself! Or contact your parents, neighbors, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends! We're looking for engineers, artists, technologists, musicians, athletes, business leaders, writers, doctors, lawyers, contractors, architects & more!   • Adult Creative Writing Spa, Mon. May 13 in Library. Join this hour of fun creative writing challenges to jazz up your day and get you away from your cares and worries. For adults with kids at 75 Morton. RSVP or questions to
  • Kids Roller Skate Party Sat. June 8, 2 - 6pm - Save the Date! We'll need volunteers to chaperone (skate with the kids), help check in, work the merch and snack tables, and bring in baked goods. For $10, your student will get skates, homemade snacks, lemonade and water. Look for ticket sales and volunteer sign-up in the coming week.
