WALK & ROLL to SCHOOL

Join Alamo families at one of our three designated meeting points this Thursday, April 18 at 8:00 am.

From the East: California and 19th Avenue

From the West: Rochambeau Playground (25th Avenue b/t Lake and California)

From the South: Fire Station #14 on 26th Avenue, between Geary and Anza 


STANDARDIZED TESTING HAS BEGUN

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a public agency. The Smarter Balances Assessment, or SBA, is an online assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Testing began on Monday and concludes on May 14. Please be sure to ensure your child gets enough sleep, eats breakfast every day, and arrives on time. Late children create a distraction for the other students. Recess schedules will also be modified to maximize quiet time during testing.

We had a great 2nd week of raffle ticket sales! We are halfway to our goal so keep selling those tickets. Congratulations to our Week 2 classroom raffle challenge winners who won the MUSIC AND POPCORN PARTY WITH Ms. Kat!

K/1st: Room 107 - Ms. Torres
2nd/3rd: Room 206 - Mr. Savant
4th/5th: Room 215 - Ms. Formalejo

Next week's classroom challenge will be special Emoji keychains (K/1st), knobby bouncy balls (2nd/3rd) and homework passes for each student (4th/5th) for those who sell the most tickets!

Please continue to sell raffle tickets to support Music, Literacy, Outdoor science, Technology, PE, Art programs and more at Alamo. Without your help and support these programs cannot continue. Please help us reach our $30,000 goal! 

If you have any questions or would like to help us make this even more successful by volunteering a small amount of time during the month of April please contact your raffle Co-chairs  Vanessa Thomas and Lily Wong.


ALAMO AUCTION UPDATE

This year we will be opening up bidding for classroom art projects to all parents online. You can check the amazing art pieces at school during our “Preview Days”, starting on April 19 (look for emails for locations and times) and BID HERE once bidding opens next Monday.

The Paddle Raise this year will help to invest in technology that is critical for furthering everyone’s educational experience. If you are not attending the event, you can still contribute by clicking this LINK

Online auction will open on April 22nd at 8 am so get ready to snap up the gift certificates and one of a kind items with the click of a button.

Here is the line up for this year's LIVE auction:

  • A weekend in Tahoe at a beautiful cabin for 12 sipping on a case of Gold Medalists from the 2018 SF International Wine Competition (Charles Ledogar & Susan Shih)

SF BALLET COMPANY CLASS VIEWING AND FANFEST

On Saturday, April 27, watch an SF Ballet Company class led by one of their ballet masters, on stage at the beautiful War Memorial Opera House (301 Van Ness Avenue). It's free to attend, but make sure you RSVP! Plus, from 10 am-2 pm, Fan Fest returns with family friendly booths where you can try on a tutu, learn about pointe shoes, and learn the history of SF Ballet.
