EDUCATIONAL REVENUE AUGMENTATION FUND (ERAF) ACTION ITEM

The City's Budget Committee and Mayor Breed have both drafted budgets for the ERAF windfall, but it only includes the minimum legal requirement of $35 million for SFUSD - not nearly enough to cover even one year of the salary increases and support services.

We are asking the City Supervisors to amend the proposed budgets to include an additional $60 million (a total of $90 million) to cover the teacher salaries and vital school support services for two years, until we know whether we can keep the money from Prop G, which is currently being held in escrow during the lawsuit. With that said, your District Supervisor needs to hear from more families, parents, and students BEFORE next WEDNESDAY's Budget & Finance Committee meeting. It is especially important to personally reach out to Supervisor Sandra Fewer in District 1, who chairs the City's Budget and Finance Committee, Supervisor Catherine Stefani  in District 2, and Rafael Mandelman in District 8 who are the other members of the committee, to ask them to amend their proposed budget. Supervisors listed at https://sfbos.org/roster-members. Click HERE for a sample email you can send your Supervisor.

SCIENCE FAIR CO-CHAIR NEEDED

Jennifer Erskine-Ogden has lead the Science Fair for seven years! As her younger daughter completes her last semester at Alamo, she is looking to hand the science fair over to a new chair. Approximately 150 students participate each spring and it's open to all students. It's a great opportunity for children to explore their interests in science and do something fun with their friends and/or family. All classes visit the science fair so even if a child does not participate, they get to see what other students have done and be inspired! Please reach out to Jennifer you'd like to chair/co-chair.
