7th Grade Out-Lunch Suspended Week of Tues 1/22 - Fri. 1/25

Please note that 7th grade Out-Lunch is suspended next week, from Tues. Jan. 22 - Fri. Jan. 25 to give the 7th graders a chance to work on appropriate Out-Lunch behaviors and how they represent 75 Morton in the community. These issues will be addressed both in Advisory and during lunch in the Cafeteria.

Snow Ball Student Dance Seeks Cleaners, Bakers... & a DJ!

Hello Morton family! We are so excited about the coming Snow Ball dance on Wed., Feb. 13 (6-7:30 pm) in the school gym – but we are still in need of your help. If you have already signed up, we thank you profusely!

  • Clean up crew and baked goods. We don't want our kids left in the snow wishing they had more sweets to dance off;) Hint: Dunkin Donuts Munchkins are easy, inexpensive and feed lots of kids;)
  • For our online shopping enthusiasts, our AMAZON WISH LIST is up. Please click on the link and check it out. We thank you in advance for anything you can purchase!
  • D.J. - ideally one who comes with their own audio equipment and is either FREE or low-cost. Doesn’t have to be a professional - but has to know how to keep the party hopping!

We look forward to making this a memorable winter wonderland and thank you again for your support.

Auction Action: Our Top Three Must Have's

We’ll keep this week’s installment short and sweet with three things we most need:

  1. Donations, donations, donations - click here for the DONATION FORM and COVER LETTER you can use to solicit donations that will be auctioned online and at our Live Party on Thurs., April 4.
  2. Auction food and refreshments – connections to restaurants, food and/or beverage vendors willing to provide items at a deep discount or free? Email us ASAP at auction@75morton.org.
  3. Party venue — We’re hoping to host the party in our Gym but we’d like to line up back-up options in case we hit a snag. Connections to folks with venues (again at a discounted rate or even free of charge)? Email us at auction@75morton.org.

Also, our Solicitation Team meets tomorrow, Friday Jan. 18, at 8:45am in the PTA Office. Please join us if you've got ideas about how to bring in the loot!

Questions? Contact co-chairs, Irma Gomez-Dib, Alessandra Vesi Jenkins & Kim Youngberg at auction@75morton.org

Java with Jacqui & Jill: Mon. Jan. 28, 8:45am in the Library

Join Principal Jacqui and Parent Coordinator Jill for an informal conversation with 75M yogi & guru Colin Lieu. Colin has been working with your kids in the classroom on conflict resolution, mindfulness and restorative justice. This is your chance to hear about what he's been doing, get some tricks you can use on your kids at home... and maybe even some insight you can apply to yourself! Sure to be a peaceful and informative morning... Coffee & bagels provided!

Questions? Contact parent coordinator Jill Bennett at jill@75morton.org

Girls Varsity Basketball Team Scores First Win... plus Steady Buckets

Basketball is sweeping 75 Morton! First our Boys Varsity team defeated Clinton in December with a dramatic Buzzer Beater finish. And now, our Girls Varsity team scored its first win, 23 - 17, yesterday against City Knoll. Go Thunderbolts!

Meanwhile, we want to make sure you know about the organization Steady Buckets, an innovative basketball, physical fitness and life skills development program for boys and girls ages 4-18 – which practices several days each week in our own 75M gym!

Check out Coach Macky's letter to our community – or the website, steadybuckets.org
