We are Gaga over playground improvements coming soon.

Let your students know a new playground activity is coming to Peter Kirk soon! Our school PTSA members voted at last Thursday’s general membership meeting to fund the installation of a Gaga Pit.

This proposal is the result of a collaborative effort between school leadership, students, and our Stipends and Grants Allocation Committee (SAGA) to allocate the funds raised at last year’s Green Gala for the new school special projects.

The great news is we will have a Gaga Pit this year and it can be moved to be used for years to come after the new school opens. Not sure what a Gaga Pit is? It is the hit of many elementary schools and the top choice of our student body vote. Learn more here.

Honoring your Eagle in Action.

November is typically a time when parents and families look for opportunities to help in our community. If you lend a hand at school or in our community let us recognize your student through the Eagles in Action program. It’s simple: complete volunteer time and then fill out the form here. We will take care of the rest! Learn more HERE.

Upcoming Event Volunteer Opportunity: Join the City of Kirkland in planting over 800 native trees while celebrating our over 2000 volunteers at Green Kirkland Day on Saturday, November 17 from 10 am to 2 pm at Everest Park, 500 8th St. S. Lunch, snacks and hot drinks will also be provided courtesy of our sponsors: REI, Regence BlueShield, Kind bars, PCC Community Markets, and partners at Forterra NW. For more information about volunteering and registration visit the Green Kirkland Partnership website. No experience is necessary and they encourage volunteers of all ages to join us.

Peter Kirk students submitted 23 Reflections entries.

This year we had 23 students submit entries for the Reflections contest. 17 visual arts, 2 literature, and 4 music compositions entries were submitted. Well done, Eagles! We are proud of the time and effort taken to make your amazing entries. Look for updates in the Eagle Flyer to see how the contest progresses.

Big changes coming to the School Play audition process.

For February's production of Alice in Wonderland, we will be switching from an audition-style process to a first-come sign up process. Our cast will be comprised of the first 60 students to register to participate.

Also, those parents serving on the school play committee will have an opportunity to sign up their students prior to the general sign up.

More details will be coming next month. Learn about the School Play or sign up for the committee here: [Signups_Text_Link]

The candy was weighed, collected, and donated.

Again, this year we collected over 500 pounds of candy! Thank you so much for all those that helped run the event and Kirkland Children’s Dentistry for sponsoring the event. The kids also donated $60 to our Sister School in Uganda!

Students' names are forever a part of the new building.

Last week the students, staff, and construction workers signed their names on the last steel beam for our new school. Then the students watched that beam be put in place. It was an amazing milestone and an awesome experience for all of our kids.

Peter Kirk needs your help! Check out the opportunities to get involved and sign up!

  • School Play Committee: Let’s come together now so the play goes without a hitch. We are searching for a Co-Committee Chair (or two) along with other roles (e.g., Sales Coordinators, Program Printing, Flower Sales, etc.). Check out available committee jobs at the sign up link above.
