Fright Night Dance Thurs. 10/25: Signed Permission Slips due Monday!

If you have not yet seen THIS PERMISSION SLIP, it has been in your student's backpack since Thursday. Please fish it out - or download and print. Signed permission slips must be returned to advisory by Monday morning with all fields completed - particularly the 'will pick up/self dismiss' boxes. Please complete, and physically put it in your child's backpack!

Thanks to all of the families who have donated decorations - both to our morning 'Halloween Box' and our Amazon Wish List. The Amazon List is already sold out - but we are still accepting donations to our Halloween Box.

Please remind your student that they can create a Fright Night Video Loop which will be screened at the dance. Here are the details: 10 seconds long; resolution: 1024 x 678. Send to: sparksparis@gmail.com

And some examples, for inspiration:

Congratulations Katie Altman... our official Assistant Principal!

Well, it's official! After serving as our Interim Acting Assistant Principal, Katie Altman has been confirmed as our official Assistant Principal, following a rigorous interviewing process (technically called the C-30 in the Chancellor's Regs).

Katie served last year as the school's Guidance Counselor, before being named Interim Acting A.P. She has been a guidance counselor with the Department of Education for 14 years. She enjoys working with middle school students to help them navigate through their adolescent years. In her spare time, she loves to travel, work out and spend time with her 10 nieces and nephews!

Congratulations Katie!

Candy Drive Collection Nov. 1, 2 and 5!

Did you buy bags of candy only to have a handful of trick or treaters come to your door? Did your child bring home WAY too much loot? Help support troops deployed overseas and returning home. We are collecting extra, leftover Halloween candy for Operation Shoebox to include in their care packages. Have your child drop off candy in the collection boxes in the lobby - Thursday, Nov. 1, Friday, Nov. 2 and Monday, Nov. 5.

Next week we will open up a Sign-Up for a few volunteers to be ‘stationed’ at the collection boxes in the morning and to help deliver candy to the drop off location. Please consider pitching in!
