Jogathon Needs Your Help
We want your gift cards! Check your junk drawers, dig through your purse, and look in the back of the desk drawer. If you have any gift cards that are loaded and you have no plans to use them, we would be happy to add them to the Jogathon prize pot. $5, $10, $15, $20 - any amount is welcome! Contact Carrie Lamb (email@example.com) to donate!
Donate Old Electronics to the Electives Program
The popular Take Apart Class is back! If you have electronics that you need to part with, the Electives Program is accepting donations in the bin located in the hallway between Room 103 (Mr. Hodges’ class) and 105 (the Electives storage room). We cannot accept electronics with screens: TVs, computer monitors, laptops, etc. Thank you!
Auction Committee - Members Needed
Help plan this fabulous adults-only spring event! There are many tasks to sign up for - some big (ish), more long-term, and starting soon, and some smaller, one-time/short time-commitment to come a bit later. Some roles may require attendance at planning meetings starting in October, yet other tasks might not be looped in until after winter break. The PTO is currently working on finalizing the volunteer needs for this event - more specific info coming soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in helping out, please email Kara Chitwood (firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you!
|Support Our School
Two weeks into fundraising! How many pledges have you received? Have you helped your child set a goal? Don't forget that we have lots of fun prizes up for grabs! Prizes are awarded to the top three individual and top three class earners! Names are also entered into a prize drawing based on the number of pledges collected (i.e. all 3rd graders who collected 5 pledges will be in a prize drawing, if they collect 10 pledges they will be entered into another drawing, etc.)
Check out the Jogathon Page on the Polaris website for a useful email donation solicitation template to send to family and friends. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Want a simple way to support Polaris and show school spirit at the same time? Purchase a t-shirt, baseball tee or hoodie for your student, yourself, or family member. Check out gear and place your order through the MySchoolAnywhere store.
Shopping Through Amazon Smile
Are you or your family members shopping on Amazon? If so, please consider making your purchases using Amazon Smile. It carries many of the same products as Amazon but a portion of the proceeds are donated to Polaris PTO. The website is https://smile.amazon.com/.
Once in the site, go to your account and select Polaris PTO as your designated non-profit. Then start shopping and the site automatically tells you how much of your total purchases will be donated to Polaris PTO. It’s easy and helps raise money for the school!

|Community Projects and Products
Historically Polaris has used Original Works as the vendor for the visual arts department optional fundraiser. After much feedback, we are trying something different this year. We will still use Original Works but all art will be completed at home. This will ensure your family can customize pieces that fit your individual lives. (Visit www.pinterest.com/originalworks for ideas and inspiration.) Art is due back to Polaris by 9/27. At that time we will send home order forms. If you are not interested in purchasing art from OW but would still like to donate funds to the Polaris Visual Arts program, please drop a check off in the main office.
Great First Day Of Electives
Thank you to all who volunteered for this session of Electives. The students had such a wonderful variety of topics to choose from and were highly engaged. Well done to all, but especially Deb Aruca. Thank you, Deb, for all of your hard work. We appreciate you!

PTO Meetings Have A New Parent-Friendly Format
To encourage more parent participation, the PTO has moved all "housekeeping business" to the end of the meeting and will provide free childcare for all children. The first 30 minutes will focus on a specific topic(s), announced in the ePost prior to the meeting, following with a Parent Open Forum to discuss PTO-related comments/questions/concerns. We had a great turnout for the September meeting and would love to see more of you there on October 1st. Meeting times will be 6:00-7:30pm the first Monday of each month.
