Polaris PTO Needs YOU!
Our programming would not be possible without the fabulous volunteers whose time and dedication make Polaris events and programs successful and meaningful. We invite YOU to join and participate in the Polaris PTO this year. Whether you have 30 minutes or 30 hours to give, your help is greatly appreciated by our school community.
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Room Parent, Fundraising Team, Day-of Event staffing, Community Dinners, Social Committee, and the Auction. Contact Kara Chitwood (firstname.lastname@example.org) to get involved.
JOGATHON Needs HELP
JOGATHON 2018 will be Friday October 5th! A team of parents have been working hard this summer and we know this year will be even better than last. In order for that to happen we need your HELP. Please email Jogathon Chair Carrie Lamb at email@example.com to find out how you can help.
Staff Appreciation Team- JOIN US
Looking for an easy, fun way to get involved at Polaris? Every month our community provides our wonderful staff with a meal. Half of the meals are sponsored by a single grade, and the remainder of the meals are sponsored by the Staff Appreciation Team. We also help support Teacher Appreciation Week in May, as well as other things that pop up throughout the year.
Interested? Contact Staff App Team Co-Lead Jami Davis, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first staff appreciation meal will be Sept. 12th and hosted by the 5th grade families. Room parents will circulate a sign-up as the date gets closer.
Fundraising at Polaris
Public school budgets are tight across Colorado. Polaris PTO needs to raise $130,000 this year to provide paras, Friday Electives, STEAM and other programs.
Here are the ways you can give:
Annual Fund - 100% tax deductible. (click to donate)
Jog-A-Thon - student-led event October 5th
Auction - adult-only event in April
Other ways: Single-Use/Re-loadable Grocery Cards, Amazon Smile, Community Dinners, Yearbooks and Polaris Gear
Cool New Polaris Gear
Want a simple way to support Polaris and show school spirit at the same time? Come to the Back to School Meet & Greet ready to purchase a Polaris t-shirt, baseball tee or hoodie! We have fresh new gear for you this year in both kid and adult sizing. Items will be available for sale periodically throughout the year, as well. We can take cash, check or card (via PayPal mobile card reader).
Re-loadable Grocery Cards
Easy Money for Polaris! We encourage Polaris families to use re-loadable grocery cards as an easy way to contribute funds to our school through everyday purchases. For every $100 spent using a grocery card, Polaris receives $5. These small increments add up and result in donations to our school that don't come out of your pocket! Grab extra cards to give to grandparents, aunts/uncles, and friends to spend at participating stores (King Soopers, Safeway) and their gas stations. We also have Sprouts one-time purchase cards for sale. Get your card at the Back to School Meet & Greet; if you can't attend, or have any questions, contact Megan Webber (email@example.com).
Help Needed With Electives Kickoff
The Electives Program is revving up for another exciting year of programming. Volunteers are needed to teach or assist on Friday afternoons: September 14th, 21st, 28th, October 5th and 12th.
New families: Electives offer a wonderful opportunity to get to know our school. Some ways to get involved: · Propose and develop your idea for a new elective class · Teach from one of our existing curricula · Assist in your child’s elective class · Or consider financially sponsoring an elective with one of our visiting teachers from the community.
If interested, please contact Deb Aruca at firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, August 21st.
