Sandwich-making for the Homeless on February 12th

Let's show others who are less fortunate some LOVE this Valentines by making lunches for the homeless on Monday, February 12th, after school in the hallway outside of the main office. Our goal is to make 500 sandwiches! Please use the link below to sign up to bring something and come with your child. And don't forget to record your child's volunteer hours for Eagles in Action!

We're looking forward to bringing our community together to serve those in need!

Donate an Auction Item to Bring in the Green!

The first annual Green Gala auction is coming up on March 17th and we need your help to procure items for the silent auction!

Our committee is working hard to secure donations, but if each Peter Kirk family could source at least one auction item, our work would be done. Do you have connections to a local business or a family member with a timeshare or vacation home? Do you have a skill you'd love to share by offering a service or hosting a class for your neighbors? How about tickets to an event, or gift certificates that might be lying around? Retail items or themed baskets are a hit too!

Need more ideas? Visit our procurement page for more details and to download or complete an online procurement form. We kindly request all donated items be received by February 23rd.

We know you share our enthusiasm for this long awaited new school, and want it to be the best it can be for our current and future students! As a PTSA, we have the opportunity to supplement the district funding for enhancements like playground equipment, books for the library and other enrichment opportunities. We need everyone's help to make our Green Gala a success and our new Peter Kirk the best it can be!

Visit the Green Gala Website for more information, and to buy your tickets (only 35 left!) [Store_Text_Link]

For questions or comments related to the event please email us at auction@peterkirkptsa.org.

Vote YES! For our Schools

Top 3 Reasons to vote YES on the 3 LWSD Bond and Levies

1. Addresses overcrowding and provides needed resources while reducing the tax rate. The bond provides more classroom space to relieve overcrowding in our district, which is now the third largest in the state. The levies enable teachers to have the resources they need to help students succeed. And, due to good fiscal planning, the LWSD tax rate will be reduced

2. Maintains and prioritizes most urgent needs for kids. These proposals prioritize our schools' most urgent overcrowding, education, safety, technology, and maintenance needs while reducing our tax rate.

3. Everyone benefits. Good schools and facilities positively affect our neighborhoods. Better schools help build a stronger community, which improves our quality of life, and keeps our neighborhoods desirable.

Please vote 'YES' for our kids and schools by Feb. 13th!

For more information on the LWSD bond and levy measures visit LWCLC or LWSD

If you have questions, please contact Melissa Stone

Thank you for coming out to wave signs!

Thank you to the students, teachers, staff and parents who showed up in support of our District in the rain before and after school at the corner of 6th and Central to build awareness for these important bond and levies. Your sign-waving moved the momentum forward! We now encourage you to tell everyone in your community to vote YES on all three measure on the ballot. Every vote counts!

Connection, Connection, Connection

Many of us know that when it comes to buying a house, it’s all about location, location, location.  But have you ever heard that when it comes to parenting, it’s all about connection, connection, connection?  In Dr. Ned Hallowell’s book, Childhood Roots to Adult Happiness; Five steps to Help Kids Create and Sustain Lifelong Joy, he describes connection as “closeness to mother and/or father, perceived caring by mother and/or father, satisfaction with relationship with mother and/or father, and feeling understood, loved, wanted and paid attention to by family members.”  Ahhh, as I sink into those words I feel a sense of calm, a sense that all is well.  And when our children feel that sense of connection, I’m guessing they feel similar feelings and have similar thoughts.
