Serious safety concerns were brought up at our most recent LSLC meeting.  Effective starting today, the gates in the Colfax lot will be closed to cars at pick up time.  Parents will still be able to walk in through the gate and pick up students, however cars will not be permitted.   The gates will re-open to vehicles at 3:00 for pick up from the after-school programs.  If you have any questions, please call the office.  Thank you for helping us to keep all students safe.

Hope Mill Donations

This month we honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King.  His birthday is also recognized as a national day of service. The fifth grade would like Colfax to participate in helping others in need.  Hope Mill is an organization that helps the homeless in our community by providing backpacks that are filled with necessary supplies.   We would like to support their work by collecting items that they need to fulfill their mission.  Please help us by donating these items. See Attached List of Items. Please drop off these items at your child's classroom or in room 19. The drive will go for the next two weeks.

Thank you!

The fifth grade teachers and students

Spirit Book
Thank you so much to all of the creative students who submitted poems, comics, recipes, stories, and drawings for the new Spirit Book project!  In order to give our students additional time to create and edit this amazing book, we’ve extended the deadline for submissions through January 31st.  Your submission can be Colfax-themed or can be about anything that interests you (cooking, art, sports or hobbies…) Please use the available templates (located in the Spirit Book bin in the front office) for your 1-2 page submission, or submit your work (preferably typed) on portrait-oriented white typing/copy paper.
