Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

CURRENT HAPPENINGS

After-School Program Registration Happening Now!

Registration for our Winter Session is now open and classes are filling up fast. Register today!

The PTSA, with the support of Principle Garcia and staff, are bringing 3 new programs to the line up. Mad Science offers an exciting chemistry program, Kirkland Arts Center is bringing us Ceramics with our very own PK parent Rupa Palasamudram, and if you hear sweet music in the corridors it will be from our new Guitar program. You can read more about these and the rest of the programs at 6crickets

Remember, our After-School Programs are organized by the PTSA, and for insurance purposes require a PTSA parent chaperone for each program. The chaperone does not have to partake in the class but rather ensures the students are safe, make it to/from their classes, and are picked-up appropriately. In return for volunteering to chaperone the entire session, the parent is offered free or reduced tuition for their child. If we do not have one parent volunteer, we then operate a roster and all parents will be required to chaperone at least one class. Please contact us if you are interested in signing up to be a chaperone. Learn More.

Support Hungry Students in our Community. Donate Today.

Over 900 kids in Lake Washington School District go hungry over the weekend if they don't receive food from Pantry Packs. Please support hungry students in Kirkland and Lake Washington School District by donating during the Pantry Packs Holiday Hunger Campaign!

Donate online from December 4th-17th. Click on Peter Kirk once you get to the site.

  • $250 will provide food to one student for an entire school year.

  • $25 donation will support a student for a month.

Help Peter Kirk Elementary reach our goal of feeding 20 students for a year. Thank you for your generosity. If you have questions, please contact Margo Wei. Learn More.

Reclaim Your Lost Items

While I haven't found a small, reliable tracking device for my student's coat, I can tell you the first place we look when something goes missing - the Lost and Found at Peter Kirk! The school's rack is bursting at the seams with articles that want to be found. Take a moment to locate your lost items before Friday, December 15th. After Friday, all items left will be donated to Treehouse

Our New School: Finishing Design and Moving to Permitting

Peter Kirk Elementary will soon complete the design development phase and then submit documents to the City of Kirkland to permit the project. Updated designs have been added to the school's project page on the LWSD website. Construction activities are scheduled to start this spring, and the school is expected to be complete in Fall 2019. Come to the PTSA General Membership Meeting on January 11th to Learn More.

PTSA General Meeting and Parent Education (January 11, 7pm)

Our next PTSA General Meeting will be on January 11th at 7pm. The meeting begins with a brief discussion of business (30 minutes) including an update from Principal Garcia about the school construction project followed by a Parent Education topic. So let's get ahead of the game and come together to compare notes on the best summer camp(s) your students have attended.

Give us your thoughts by filling out this one question survey! We will compile the list and share it during our discussion in January.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
